Expect another smoky day out there today as we experience lots of drift smoke from SoCal wildfires, with the closest being the 900+ acre Gold Fire burning a few miles north of Big Bear. Winds will generally push this fire towards the northeast away from the Big Bear Valley and towards Lucerne Valley, but residents should always be prepared and check in at Socalmountains.com for the latest. Looking at warm and dry coinditions for the remainder of the week, cooling slightly for the weekend. Mostly sunny this afternoon with highs in the lower to mid-80s, southwest winds 5-15 mph gusting to around 20 mph during the afternoon. Temperatures will increase through the second half of the week as daytime highs reach the mid to upper 80s in a few locations, with overnight lows in the 50s. Strong high pressure over the area will weaken and shift east over the weekend, allowing temperatures to return to normal. There are even signs we could experience an increase in monsoon moisture next week, which could lead to possible afternoon thundershowers.
